Most of my images with people start the same way.  I find a scene that I like—interesting light, strong lines, or a sense of place and I patiently observe. Sometimes something clicks.  A person moves into the frame in just the right way and the image finds its subject.
I’m not chasing drama or spectacle. I’m looking for connection—for someone who gives the scene meaning or who draws the eye and holds it.  When the moment arrives, I’m grateful.  These photographs are my attempt to honor people and the places they live with care and attention.
